As a food reviewer who values genuine flavors and heartfelt hospitality, I find Minh Chau a place that consistently delivers simple, delicious, and satisfying meals without overstated flair. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it perfect for casual outings, date nights, or family gatherings.
The star of Minh Chau lies in its carefully crafted dishes that balance authenticity with generous portions and fair pricing. Highlights include the richly flavored pho, known for its savory broth and tender slices of meat, alongside standout items like the beef salad rolls and chicken fried rice that are consistently praised by patrons. One cannot miss the deep-fried wontons, which guests rave about for their crisp texture and addictive taste, perfectly paired with refreshing drinks such as strawberry bubble tea, showing the thoughtful attention to detail and customer experience.
What truly sets Minh Chau apart is its combination of swift, friendly service and genuinely fresh food. Whether it’s the well-executed shrimp sugar cane rolls or the bold pork and egg rice dish, every bite reflects the care and tradition embedded in Vietnamese cuisine.

Minh Chau is more than just a restaurant; it is a culinary haven that embraces the soul of Vietnamese food culture while welcoming every guest with warmth and a smile. For those searching for a true taste of Vietnam in Calgary, Minh Chau Restaurant remains an exceptional discovery, blending quality, affordability, and heartfelt service in one delightful package.
“ I live in Inglewood and come here at least once a month and it’s consistently great. A lovely little family run spot in the heart of the neighbourhood that constantly surprises me. Nothing flashy, just simple and delicious eats that hit the spot without hurting the wallet. The food is authentic, flavourful, and quick. I’m surprised I don’t see this place on more foodie lists out there. Try any one of the many other unique menu items here besides the pho and you won’t be disappointed. ”
“ One of my new favourite spots! The staff are so sweet and the food is delicious. It’s all freshly made and didn’t take that long! We got the deep fried wontons which I’m obsessed with and a combo 3 with some strawberry bubble tea. Before we left the staff even topped off the bubble tea with some extra that was leftover! :) ”
“ Food was great, staff are amazing, and decent pricing. I would recommend for date night or for whole family. I especially enjoyed the beef salad rolls and chicken pho. The chicken fried rice was absolutely amazing with deep fried wonton. I will definitely be back and do yourself a favor and get some pho and salad rolls. ”
“ A very short walk from the West entrance of the Calgary Zoo. We enjoyed the food here which came with hearty portions and a tasty combination of meats. We had chicken fried rice, the pork and egg rice dish, the shrimp with sugar cane rolls. ”
“ Hands down best place in town and to be honest best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to. The pho and subs even beef vermicelli and the quail is to die for. It’s so delicious I’ve been to many different Vietnamese restaurants and I can’t ever forget this place it’s a must try and will be a place to come back to. The price is not the cheapest but it’s a deal for what you get and the tastes and flavours are perfect wouldn’t change a thing. ”
